In collaboration with AZ Delta from Rumbeke, Goomyx developed a clinical dashboard for internal use to improve patient follow-up after orthopedic surgery and to visualize and analyze the results of pre-season checkups for sports teams.
AZ Delta has a recognizable brand identity. This was implemented in the dashboard that is mobile-friendly and developed for all platforms and devices. Goomyx focuses strongly on user-friendliness, which is why we talked several times with the physical therapy department. Each time we conducted several user tests to check the intuitiveness of the dashboard logic. Thanks to this iterative process, we were able to develop a dashboard that is not only clear and user-friendly, but also closely matches the needs of the physicians.
Physicians can assign exercise programs and exercises to patients based on their individual trajectory and progress.
An exercise program consists of a set of exercises. An exercise consists of a video demonstrating the exercise with additional explanations.
Patients can perform the exercises at predetermined times. Moreover, patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) such as the Borg scale and pain scores reported by patients after performing the exercises are collected through the app and visualized in the dashboard. Thus, physicians are no longer dependent on the patient's memory when evaluating exercises during the next consultation.
Based on these PROMs, the physician can remotely adjust the difficulty level of the exercises to achieve optimal pain management and rehabilitation.
The patient can perform exercises independently, but the physician remains involved in the process and care. The physical therapy app allows for faster and more accurate patient follow-up
Within the tool, we implemented the ability to capture data from tests taken by sports teams at the start of the season and generate insightful reports from this. This enables the physical therapist or physician to make data-driven decisions to provide their advice for optimizing performance.
For this project we used SvelteKit, as always at Goomyx accompanied by Typescript for the front end. The back end was provided by AZ Delta in Hasura using GraphQL. The interface for patients was designed by the developers at Endare.
Thanks to the dashboard we built in collaboration with AZ Delta, patients are being closely monitored after orthopedic surgery, while sports teams benefit from streamlined pre-season checks. This helps improve the patient care experience and sports teams' performance.
